Common questions

What size should an Instagram post be?

1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5) takes up the most room in the feed. Square 1080 × 1080 works too. Instagram scales anything wider than 1080 pixels down to 1080.

Why does my banner get cut off?

Banners are cropped differently on phones, computers and TVs. YouTube shows only the central area everywhere, and on LinkedIn your profile photo covers part of the banner, so keep text and faces near the middle.

Do platforms compress my images again?

Yes, every platform re-encodes uploads. Uploading at the exact size, moderately compressed, gives the cleanest result.
